Position Description:
The Senior CAD Designer is responsible for the development of specific chiller designs using current CAD technology to meet customer requirements in the most economical manner. This position reports to the data center colocation Engineering Supervisor.
The Designer will provide 2D and 3D CAD modeling, detailed drawing documentation and advance level design support for the creation of chiller and their subcomponents for multiple projects at the same time. The candidate may communicate directly with the customer’s engineering and/or design team.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage a wide range of large complex chiller 3D models using Solid Edge CAD software.
Spearheads design projects with minimal input and direction.
Provide technical guidance and expertise to less experienced CAD designers.
Effectively coordinates multiple projects simultaneously and recognized and resolves design issues independently before they become a problem.
Provide support on both new and existing chiller products.
Communicates directly with the customer engineering and/or design team.
Create approval drawings, shop floor detailed drawings, BOMS in excel, upload drawings to PDM system and support the routing process.
Coordinate a team of designers and drafters.
Write change notifications to facilitate SM drawing modifications as per product design needs.
Familiarity with design requirements, tooling, manufacturing and assembly operations of a standard production line.
